The India Automobile manufacture Tata Motors has unveiled the Tata Nexon design concept at the Delhi Auto Expo 2014. The SUV segment is growing fast in India, and Tata also want to presence strong in this segment. With their plan to launching later this year, it may be this diwali or early 2016 “Tata Nexon”. The Tata Motors always produce cars that more functional than stylish, but now they are ready to surface Tata Nexon which is mixer of stylish and functional. The SUV, is likely to be positioned between the Tata Zest and Tata Safari Storm.
The Tata Nexon compact SUV code name Tata X104 is based on the X1 platform, which also underpins the Tata Zest and Bolt. The design concept of Tata Nexon looked quit impressive, however, the production model is expected to be some changes, according to some reports, will features a tapering roof at the rear head room. The Tata Nexon measures 4 meters in length, 1.73 meters in width and 1.6 meter in height and has wheel base of 2.5 meters. the SUV is high ground clearance with the 16-inch alloy wheels.
The Tata Nexon concept would have all the design elements of a modern Tata car. these comprise of Humanity line, Diamond DLO and the slingshot line.
The Tata Nexon will be powered by 1.2-litre turbo charged Revotron petrol engine that will be produce around 110bhp of power and 170Nm of torque. in diesel variant it may come with 1.3-litre, three-cylinder turbocharged diesel engine.
Interns of transmission Tata Nexon will be equipped to a 5-speed manual transmission with the possibility that an automatic transmission to be mated also.
The Nexon compact SUV will direct compete with the Maruti XA Alpha, Nissan Terano, Ford Eco Sport, Hyundai iX25 and Renault Duster. We expect Tata Motors to price the Tata Nexon between Rs 5 Lakh to Rs.8 Lakh, will the launching take place close to end of 2015 to early 2016.
