The new 2016 BMW 340i unveil this week in Achenkirch, Austria. The new car will have bigger horse power by BMW all new 3.0-litre turbocharged straight six.
The new 2016 BMW 3 Series gets a new 6-cylinder gasoline power plant that will be featured in the 340i. It’s the first BMW to be powered by the B58 from the new modular BMW Efficient Dynamics engine family. The engine is lightweight and is an all-aluminium unit and uses BMW’s Twin Power Turbo technology.
Engine and Transmission
The new BMW 340i will the first BMW to use the six-cylinder engine from the Efficient Dynamics engine family. The BMW 340i engine produce 326hp and 332 lb-ft of torque and achieve 7.7 to 6.5 litre per 100 KM average (30 mpg USA). The new all-aluminium six-cylinder engine will be both powerful and efficient
The new in line six-cylinder engine is equipped with BMW’s latest generation Twin Power Turbo technology that features twin-scroll turbocharger, High Precision Injection and Double-VANOS variable camshaft timing. It also incorporates Valvetronic fully variable valve lift.
The 2016 BMW 340i Sedan’s 3.0-liter engine is mated with the 8-speed Steptronic transmission and accelerates from 0-60 mph in just 4.8 seconds while the BMW 340i xDrive model takes just 4.6 seconds. All BMW 340i models have an a limited top speed of 155 mph when equipped with performance tires.

The new BMW 340i has minor cosmetic changes on the outside, they include tweaked bumpers on both ends, newly design both headlights with Full-LED headlights come standard. The rear view gets on even more dynamic look because its LED tail lights.Other features on the BMW 340i models will set it apart like new 18” wheels and optional 19” wheels with performance tires.The new BMW 340i will be distinguished from the rear with individual tailpipes on the left and right, while the engines for the 320i and 328d models now come with twin tailpipes.

According to BMW, the 2016 BMW 340i also features a dynamic, elegant, sporty interior, . The new model features improved ergonomics, improved chrome highlights, and high-gloss surfaces. The center console features new ambient lighting, and chrome accents define the newly designed controls for the electric seat adjustment. The new chrome applications are also featured on the electric window controls and air vents. Also, the highlight trim finisher in the instrument panel has been expanded into all four doors, and the cupholders in the center console now feature a sliding cover. An additional storage area for smaller items is positioned forward of the cupholders.
The BMW 340i Sport Line options are now standard equipment high-gloss exterior components; black B-Pillars; black high-gloss element on the rear bumper; sport instrument cluster; and sport seats with side bolsters. The Luxury package adds comfort and design features, while the M Sport package offers options designed to increase road presence and driving pleasure. These include the M Aerodynamic package, M leather steering wheel, and M Sport suspension. The Premium package for the 328i and 328d models includes Comfort Access, LED headlights, lumbar support, moonroof, and satellite radio with a no-cost one-year subscription. The Premium package is standard for the 340i. The Track Handling package, designed for driving enthusiasts, is available on gasoline-powered models only. A full-color, high-resolution head-up display is also available.
High-tech safety features on the 2016 BMW 340i include Parking Assistant and BMW Assist eCall. With the 8-speed transmission comes the Driving Assistant System, which imparts speed limits and no-passing zone information, forward-collision warning with city-collision mitigation, pedestrian warning, lane-departure warning, and information relating to smartphone and media operation (shown in the optional head-up display).
