Because Mahindra & Mahindra launches India’s first electric car, the all new e2o Electric Vehicle (EV) in Indian market priced at Rs 5.96 lakhs which first showcased at 2012 Auto Expo, New Delhi. It’s jointly developed by Mahindra Reva Electric Vehicles to replace the predecessor Reva to take on Tata’s Megapixel and Pixel. (Economics Times)
During the launch, the President (Automotive and Farm Equipment Sectors) Pawan Goenka said, “ Our target is 400-500 vehicles a month will be a good number for us. We expect Delhi to be the biggest market and should account for about 150-200 units.” He also added that” the company has invested a total of Rs 100 crore with an annual capacity of 30,000 units a year and The company has already set up over 250 charging stations in various cities, with 95 in Delhi and over 100 in Bangalore.(The Hindu).
