On the eve of 40th anniversary of the Munich Olympics, BMW Group Olympic Ambassador and double Olympic figure skating champion Katarina Witt has unveiled BMW C evolution prototype electric scooter at an international press event at the Deutsches Haus (German house) in London on 27 July. She also took the test ride of the BMW C evolution as a passenger.
The all new C-Evolution zero emission electric maxi scooter based on BMW C600 Sport and C650GT Maxi-Scooters specially deigned for “Arban Mobilty” which expected to hit U.S market by early 2014 priced around $15,000(Est). How ever no confirmation of pricing and release date from BMW so far.
“The BMW C evolution not only looks cool, but also features cutting-edge technology,” said Witt. “With this electric scooter, BMW is once again demonstrating its high levels of innovation. The BMW Group was involved in the marathon and walking races at the 1972 Olympic Games in Munich with the BMW 1602 electric car. As such, today’s anniversary event sees the issue of environmentalism come full circle.”(Carpressonline)
New BMW C-Evolution will be available in Light white and Electric Green color powered by a 8 kWh battery, the same lithium-ion storage modules as are installed in the BMW i3 producing 11 kW continuous output (homologation according to ECE R85) and 35 kW peak output promising a range of 100 kms in single charge having a power rocket with a electronically limited top speed of 120 km/h (75 mph) and for compete charge it takes just 3 hours while using a 220 volt, 16 amp power source.
It also combines Hybrid chassis with agile handling due to low centre of gravity, Powerful braking system with ABS, Lightweight Metzeler Feelgreen tyres and Multifunctional TFT instrument cluster and LED daytime running light.
At last I would like to say that upcoming BMW C-Evolution is wonderfully designed to make a sustainability bright future . What you think? Please be open to give your view.
