Volkswagen has invented the dream concept car, the world’s first Super Efficient Vehicle (SEV) all new 2014 XL1 Concept, which first unveiled at 2011 Qatar Motor Show going to make it’s global debut at the Geneva Motor Show next month. This two-seater, plug-in diesel hybrid offers you 313 MPG in U.K or 261 MPGe in U.S (111 kilometre per litre) expected to launch by the end of 2013 priced between $80,000-$95,000(Est.).
The upcoming VW XL1 is powered by a next generation 8L two-cylinder TDI diesel engine churns out producing peak Power 47bhp (diesel), 26bhp (electric); Torque 103lb ft (combined) mated with a seven-speed DSG gearbox with an automatic clutch. It can rocket from 0 to 62 mph in 11.9 seconds with the electronically limited top speed is 99 mph promising you the best fuel economy ever 313 mpg. It can cover up to 32 miles as a zero-emissions vehicle in all-electric mode.
The XL1 is 153.1 inches long, 65.6 in wide, and just 45.4 in tall while weigh is only 1,700 pounds thanks to its aluminum and carbon fiber construction.
