2014 Volkswagen XL1 Concept, The 314 MPG SEV Debuts at 2013 Geneva Motor Show

Your dream car finally appeared in reality and the place is 2013 Geneva Motor show where Volkswagen debuts, The world’s most efficient production car, the all new 2014 Volkswagen XL1 Concept, the  Super Efficient Vehicle (SEV) with the best fuel efficiency of 314 MPG in U.K ( 261 MPGe in U.S , 111 Kmpl in India) . It’s on production expected to launch by the end of 2013 as a 2014 model priced under $95,000. It rivals are Nissan Leaf and Chevy Volt but stand close to LaFerrari, the McLaren’s P1 and Porsche’s 918.

The all new 2014 XL1 emits just 21 g/km of CO2, less than Toyota Prius. thanks to its high-tech lightweight design, aerodynamic efficiency, and a plug-in hybrid system. It’s powered by  803cc, parallel twin-cylinder turbodiesel and 5.5kWh, 60-cell, 230-volt Sanyo lithium-ion battery pack producing peak power of 47bhp/88.5lb ft, motor 27bhp/103lb ft. Total system output in “boosting” mode 68bhp/103lb ft mated with an AC electric motor and seven-speed, dual-clutch DSG transmission driving the rear wheels.  The the two-seat XL1 can accelerate from 0 to 62 mph in 12.7 seconds with a top speed of 100 mph(electronically restricted).

The XL1 is 153.1 inches long, 65.6 in wide, and just 45.4 in tall and weighting 795 kg.  It also cover up to 32 miles as a zero-emissions vehicle in all-electric mode and equires less than 0.1 kWh to cover more than a kilometer.
