Who is saying dreams can’t be converted in realty? Volkswagen debuts the world’s most efficient production car, the Super Efficient Vehicle (SEV) named it new 2014 XL1 with 314 MPG at 2013 Geneva Motor Show. Which expected to go on sale by the end of 2013 or early 2014 estimated price around $80,000 to $95,000 in USA and £30k-£100k in U.K. It’s stand close to LaFerrari, the McLaren’s P1 and Porsche’s 918 but biggest competitor of Nissan Leaf, Ford Fusion and Chevy Volt.
The 2014 VW XL1 Concept is a two seat plug-in diesel hybrid car which follows pure sports-car design principles: light weight (1753 pounds), exceptional aerodynamics (Cd 0.19), and a low center of gravity, a small footprint with lightweight carbonfibre technology and a bespoke drivetrain, it is the world’s first “1-litre” production vehicle featuring magnesium wheels and ceramic brake discs powered by a803cc, parallel twin-cylinder turbodiesel and 5.5kWh, 60-cell, 230-volt Sanyo lithium-ion battery pack, with AC electric motor and seven-speed, dual-clutch DSG transmission driving the rear wheels and weigh only 1,700 pounds thanks to its aluminum and carbon fiber construction.
In pure electric mode the XL1 can travel up to 35 km before the diesel engine cuts in and having a power to rocket from 0 to 62 mph in 11.9 seconds with the electronically limited top speed is 99 mph(160 km/h). It emits just 21 g/km of CO2 lower than Toyota Prius and equires less than 0.1 kWh to cover more than a kilometer. It also ensures safety because of carbonfibre construction it has stability control as standard, plus pyrotechnics to blow the doors open, should it get flipped upside down.
New VW XL1 combines advanced plug-in hybrid drivetrain and innovative packaging offers you he best fuel economy of 314 MPG in U.K ( 261 MPGe in U.S , 111 Kmpl in India). The XL1’s overall length (3,970 mm) and width (1,682 mm) are similar to those of a Volkswagen Polo yet its height (1,184 mm) is more akin to that of a Lamborghini Gallardo Spyder.
At last I would like to say that new 2014 Volkswagen XL1 Concept a car of the future, built for today coming to rule the world . What you think? Please be open to give your view.
