Japanese auto maker, Honda Motor has announces the pricing and release date of all new 2014 Accord Plug-In-Hybrid which will be available in U.S market by the fall of 2013 priced at MSRP of $40,570 promising you the highest EPA MPGe rating (115 MPGe) means it will give a stiff competition to it’s rivals like Ford C-Max Energi (100 MPGe), Chevy Volt (98 MPGe), and Prius Plug-in (95 MPGe).
The 2014 Accord Plug-in Hybrid is the first to use Honda’s Earth Dreams two-motor hybrid system which is powered by a 2.0-liter iVTEC Atkinson cycle engine electrically coupled to a Continuously Variable Transmission. It can go 10 to 15 miles on electricity with a maximum speed of 62 mph. The battery is a 6.7-kWh air-cooled lithium-ion battery pack with active cooling and comes from Blue Energy. you can plug into a 120-volt outlet, and you’ll be fully charged in only three hours. And if you use a 240-volt charger, you can charge up in less than one hour. It all-electric EV mode range of 13 miles, and a fuel-economy rating of 47/46/46 mpg (city/hwy/combined).
The Accord Plug-In-hybrid will be availble in White Orchid Pearl, Crystal Black Pearl and Burnished Silver Metallic color. It also offers you unique, aerodynamic exterior style and loaded with all the comforts and conveniences of the Accord Touring Sedan model, such as Honda LaneWatch™, Forward Collision Warning (FCW), Lane Departure Warning (LDW), Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC)] and much more.
