Japanese multinational auto manufacturer, Honda set 2013 all set the 2013 North American International Auto Show (NAIAS) on fire after debuting it’s next generation small SUV based on Honda Zazz , the all new “Urban SUV Concept” which going to hit Japanese market by the end of 2013 and hit the U.S. market in 2014 priced below Honda CR-V means it will be priced under$22,000. It’s rivals are Ford EcoSport and Chevrolet Trax compact SUVs.
The all new “Urban SUV Concept” will expected to be powered by 1.5-litre i-DTEC diesel engine. This efficient small SUV is smaller than Honda CR-V measuring 4,300mm combines innovative features like fuel-efficient Earth Dreams™ Technology, the Honda light-truck lineup, with the Honda-original center-tank layout and a configurable Magic Seat® for a host of cargo and passenger options.
“No one has had greater success with small cars than Honda, and this Urban SUV Concept will create new value in the growing small-SUV segment,” said John Mendel, executive vice president of sales at American Honda. “With the continued expansion of our North American manufacturing operations, we expect fuel-efficient and fun-to-drive ‘small’ cars to play a key role in meeting the needs of our customers in the U.S.”
The small SUV will be manufactured along with the Fit at Honda’s newest North American plant near Celaya, Mexico, expected to open in the spring of 2014. The growth and expansion of its small-vehicle lineup will help Honda double worldwide production of vehicles in its Global Compact Series to more than 1.5 million units by the end of 2016, and remain a global small-car leader.”Press Release“
