Japanese auto maker, Mitsubishi has beautifully combined hybrid and luxury with next generation technology and crafted the world’s first production plug-in hybrid SUV, 2014 Outlander PHEV which which debuted at 2012 Paris auto show slated to go on sale in Japan by early 2013 and European market by February 2013 in an expected price around $29,420.
The new 2014 Outlander PHEV is powered by a next generation 2.0-liter, four-cylinder engine paired with two 60-kWh electric motors all-electric range up to 55 kilometers(34 miles) for a total range of 547 miles combined fuel efficiency of 143.5 mpg. The charging time is 3 to 4 hour from 220-volt outlet while in Quick charging it takes only 30 mint for 80% charge.
It also offers you three Automatic Selection of Three Drive Modes for Optimal Efficiency as EV Drive Mode, Series Hybrid Mode and Parallel Hybrid Mode. It also combines Twin Motor 4WD system comprising independent electric motors to drive the front and rear wheels integrated with the brand’s S-AWC (Super All Wheel Control).
