South Korean largest Auto maker finally released the images of, it’s next-generation Santa Fe crossover SUV popularly known as ix45 and going to debut at the 2012 New York Auto Show in April and if the rumors turn in reality than we expect new Santa Fe will go on sale in the end of 2012 or early 2013. The 2013 Santa Fe will retain it’s name in North American market but in European market it will go on sale in different name, the ix45.
The upcoming Santa Fe is expected to be powered by a 3.5-liter V-6 turbocharged petrol engine churns out peak power of 274 hp (204 kW / 278 PS) and maximum torque of 269 lb-ft (364 Nm) of torque matted with a Six-speed automatic/mannual transmission . The fuel economy boasts EPA ratings of 40 mpg or better for its Accent, Elantra, Veloster, and Sonata hybrid on the other hand A gas-electric Santa Fe is expected to be powered by 2.4-liter four is assisted by a 40-hp electric motor like Sonata Hybrid.
While Hyundai Press Release confirmed that, “Based on the design concept “Storm Edge,” which is part of Hyundai’s larger design philosophy of Fluidic Sculpture, the all-new Santa Fe captures the strong and dynamic images created by nature during the formation of a storm. Matching its futuristic and charismatic exterior, the new Santa Fe features LED positioning lamps, LED rear combination lamps as well as 19-inch aluminum wheels for better look and feel, giving a stylish and high-end image. It’s shares the platform with Tucson crossover.
The new model also boasts a series of advanced safety and convenience features applied to an SUV, including a Lane Departure Warning System (LDWS), which warns drivers when the vehicle strays from its lane, as well as a 7-airbag system that includes knee airbags, to name a few.
Furthermore, Hyundai’s own in-vehicle telematics service Blue Link® will be available for the first time on an SUV model. The system offers innovative connectivity, convenience and safety services for Hyundai vehicles, such as remote access features that work with smart devices, voice text messaging and enhanced roadside assistance.”
